Former Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka is unhappy with his role at Chelsea. The capricious Frenchman stated a few weeks ago that he was content to stay at Stamford Bridge for the rest of his career. Now it seems he`s having second thoughts.

‘I didn’t come here to play on the left or right,’ he told L’Equipe, those well known stirrers from across the channel. ‘When I came here, people told me I would play in a 4-4-2.

‘Since I arrived, I haven’t played in my position. Never as a number nine, always on the left or the right.

‘Until now, I haven’t said anything. I was a newcomer, I haven’t wanted to make a story out of it because I still didn’t know the club.

‘But from next season, I insist I will no longer be the little newcomer.’

Anelka`s conduct in his time at the Reebok was exemplary, but now he`s back into sulk mode. Maybe Bolton can give Chelsea some tips, for a price of course. He`s also somewhat less traumatised than John Terry about missing a penalty.

“Van der Sar pushed away my shot. All the better for him, that is the game,” he commented.
