Double Millwall goalscorer Adam Le Fondre has given his thought’s following the game and victory yesterday.

Watch Lennon & Le Fondre Respond To Millwall Win

With the on loan Cardiff City striker himself to a first half brace in the game, Le Fondre told the Official Site that he was pleased to see the team get back to winning ways on home soil.

‘It was an important result for us to bounce back from our defeat at Blackburn. I think we all agreed that it wasn`t our greatest performance, but to win comfortably at home is a good thing for us and is exactly what we want. The boys have put a couple of goals on a plate for me and I`ve just done my best which has luckily paid off.’

He went on to say that his overall performance probably left a bit to be desired as he doesn’t think he was at his best over the 90 minutes but obviously it’s his job to score goals and that’s what he’s paid for and he managed to do that twice and get us all three points so he has to be happy enough with that.

‘Up until today, I felt like I`ve been playing quite well but as I said, today probably wasn`t my best performance but I still managed to score a couple. I just want to keep scoring goals – it`s ultimately what I`m about and I`m really enjoying playing here and working under the gaffer. He really seems to be bringing the best out of me.’

The striker ended his interview by talking about the performance of Ben Amos in goal, as he knows he secured us the clean sheet with a string of fine saves on the day.

‘Ben is proving to be a really important player for us and you can see his quality with the saves he made. You aren`t at Manchester United for such a long period of time without having quality and he`s got that in abundance. On the whole though, we can make a big point out of the fact that we won so comfortably today – I think we can put our worries of the last few weeks with conceding late goals to bed and push on for the rest of the season.’
