Assistant manager Johan Mjallby has said that Bolton need to concentrate on finishing the season strongly, beginning with a result against Charlton in midweek.

With four games remaining in the campaign, Charlton and Birmingham on home soil at the Macron and then Brentford and Bournemouth on our travels, the assistant gaffer told the Official Site that the final four games offered us an opportunity to finish strongly, finish on a high and give ourselves some real momentum going into what everybody hopes will be a better campaign next season.

He also said it was important for the players to ensure that he and manager Neil Lennon had positive thoughts about them as he’s expecting us to have a busy summer and if players don’t take the final opportunities to impress, they won’t figure in future plans.

‘We of course want a strong finish, even more so with the way in which we`ve been conceding late goals. We want to give the fans something to shout about. It`s also a chance for the players to show they want to be here come next season. We`re aiming for a bit of a turnaround and the players have to show that they want to be part of that over pre-season and at the start of next season.’

Mjallby goes on to say that the plan over the summer is to build some real foundations so a ‘strong Bolton Wanderers’ team can be put together for the new campaign and the aim is to hit the ground running in pre season so if players aren’t up for that they won’t get the chance to let us down.

‘We`re a bit disappointed with the way things have gone since Christmas and the New Year. We haven`t really kicked on after a positive first few months. For the last eight to ten weeks we haven`t been particularly happy, particularly with the way we have been conceding late goals, but we shouldn`t forget that we have had a lot of injuries.’
