Not Again In The Den, Surely?

A poor result at Millwall tomorrow, will Dougie meet the same fate as Coyle?

We are now midway through February and Bolton Wanderers have not won a football match in the league since Boxing Day. A 0-1 win at Barnsley.

Dire stuff… dire stuff, indeed.

As demoralising as the stat suggests, it may have been more palatable for supporters had the performances been exhilarating. They haven’t been. On the contrary. They’ve been as depressing as the points-tally suggests. The Whites have picked up 3 points since Oakwell- 3 draws- but if no points had been picked up in that time, it would have been hard to complain.

This is how bad things have got.

Should Wanderers lose at the Den tomorrow, there’s a chance they could sit in 21st position in the table, 1 place above the drop zone, 4 points above third-bottom, but having played 3 games more.

If that scenario doesn’t get Dougie the boot, strap in folks, he’s here to stay…

Jermaine Beckford must be gnawing on wood to control his frustration. OK, the Wanderers’ performances have been dour to say the least, but in several of them games, the chances in-front of goal have been there… the protaganist to put the ball away, hasn’t. Unfortunately, tomorrow’s trip darn sarf may be too soon for our striker.

Unlucky.

Freedman is sweating over Andre Moritz, however, and the Brazilian may feature.

I’m not holding my breath…

As far as the Millwall team is concerned, this is what I have found: Richard Chaplow picked up an achilles injury in Tuesday’s draw with Yeovil and looks set to miss out, whilst Nicky Bailey (back) and Mark Beevers (calf) are doubtful. Shane Lowry serves the final game of a four-match suspension.

If you’re going to the game, I hope our ‘players’ give you value for money. I don’t know what that would entail, my memory isn’t what it used to be…
