Oh, I Do Like To Be Beside…

When they say; the form book goes out of the window when a derby game occurs, unfortunately doesn’t apply to the current Bolton Wanderers squad.

Although Blackburn Rovers aren’t our closest of close rivals, they certainly should have fired up the Whites’ players more than they did when the two teams met several weeks ago.

Tuesday’s opponents Blackpool are even further away from the Reebok, but you can bet your last 50p coin the Seasiders will be frothing at the mouths in anticipation of our visit. Especially after the start Wanderers have made to the season.

If the Bolton players aren’t up for this clash; local pride and an elusive win 90 minutes away, they may as well relegate us now…

Save us all time and money.

Vital Quotes:

‘We had enough opportunities to not only win one game, but three games. Our problem is now that we’re not finishing teams off when we’re on top.’

‘We need to make sure that we take advantage of that because anything that’s going wrong for us right now is going wrong.’

Dougie talking to the club website. You have to injure something first before you finish anything off. A goal’s a start!

Blackpool Team News:

I’m hearing on the Seaside grapevine: Blackpool are without Angel, Harris and Ferguson due to suspensions and injuries.

Do you know whether this is good or bad news?

Player to watch: Tom Ince

Tom Ince is a player in the Championship who arguably shouldn’t be. But for his father and manager, this talented wing-wizard would be on Match Of The Day rather than the Football League Show.

His time will eventually come, however, but whether it’s with Blackpool remains to be seen.

If it is with Blackpool, it will be largely down to this kid.

Bolton Wanderers Team News:

You know the drill by now.

Holden, Mavies, Vela, Cravies, blah, blah, blah…

Now add Marc Tierney to that list. The left-back- our only recognised left-back- broke his foot against Yeovil and will be sidelined for several months.

And you said it couldn’t get worse…

Player to watch: Adam Bogdan

We’ve no outfield danger-men so…

I’ll be interested to see if Freedman sticks with Bogdan after the weekend’s clanger.

You can persist with a striker devoid of confidence because the team should share the goals and the confidence-stricken front-man just needs a lucky break to get his mojo flowing again.

The goalkeeper is a different proposition. A different proposition entirely.

If I was Dougie, Adam would be out of there. For his sake as much as the team’s.
