Jonathan Parr has worked with Dougie Freedman previously and he could work with him again now that the Bolton boss has admitted an interest in signing him.

Freedman is ‘short of options’ at left back but having worked with him and knowing that he’s a free agent following his release by Crystal Palace, with him also thinking that he’s ‘a talented player’ he could look to bring him in.

The Bolton boss told the Bolton News: ‘I would be very interested if we can get it done on a free transfer.

‘I have worked with Jonathan before at Crystal Palace, he’s a good age, he has experience of the Championship and the Premier League and, most of all, he’s a talented player.

‘We don’t have many options at left-back at the moment so if we can get something done on a free, then of course, I’d like it to happen.’

Marc Tierney missed last season with it revealed that he’ll miss the start of next season so a player is needed, the problem with signing the 25-year-old Norwegian international is that it wouldn’t suggest that he’s a ‘temporary option’ to fill that void.

Should Bolton manage to sign the free agent do you think that there’s room for both him and Tierney at the Macron going forward?

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.
