Bolton continued their run of signing players up today by announcing Alex Perry`s first professional contract. While Phil Parkinson, largely due to EFL regulations due to the embargo, didn`t introduce many of the Under-23 setup to the senior side, Perry was one of those to get the nod, making appearances in the Checkatrade Trophy and the FA Cup. Callum Spooner, however, has been told he can find a new club.

News of new faces coming into the club remains pretty patchy. Kosovan Bersant Celina has been one heavily linked with a move. Primarily a right-winger, he can also play on the other side, as a striker, behind the front man. He currently belongs to Manchester City, and already has assisted in the Premier League, setting up Sergio Aguero in February 2016 . He spent last season on loan to FC Twente in the Dutch Eredivisie, scoring five goals in 30 appearances as the club twice managed by Steve McClaren finished just inside the top half. Wikipedia already has him down as our player (nice and premature there).

There have also been links with Lloyd Jones, but according to the Bolton News we won`t be pursuing a deal for the Liverpool centre-back who played for Swindon last season. To be honest, if we have Dervite next season (or one other decent defender with David Wheater, Mark Beevers and Derik) I would be fairly content with our options there.

I think the areas of focus need to be the full back and positions just behind the striker, if Parkinson wants to go back to the 4-2-3-1 deployed to great success last autumn.
