It’s a first taste of midweek league football at the Macron this season, when Bolton take on Coventry tomorrow night. We got over a blip at the weekend when we beat Millwall.

Meanwhile, it’s tricky to judge our opponents. Coventry have had an awful season and were thrashed at the weekend, but since the departure of the pound shop Owen Coyle that is Tony Mowbray, they have been in fairly decent form, dragging themselves out of the drop zone. But Millwall were on form too. Oh, and it’s the return of Wanderers legend Marvin Sordell. Ahem.

Vital Quotes:

‘We reset our standards against Millwall and we need to reproduce that again.’

Phil Parkinson in the presser. Alliteration, that is.

Bolton Wanderers Team News:

Liam Trotter is suspended, he came off injured but should be available for selection at the weekend. I’ll let you decide if that’s good or bad news.

David Wheater will be out again with a back injury, while Mark Howard has joined the long term injury club with Pratley and Davies.

Player to watch: Derik Osede

Whether he plays at the back or in midfield tomorrow, he’s a cert to play. He has been unlucky not been able to force his way into the team, but now there are opportunities.

Coventry City Team News:

Check back soon for this yeah? One player who won’t be involved is Sam Ricketts. The former Wanderer had been struggling with injuries at Coventry and announced his retirement last week

Player to watch: Ben Stevenson

Picked out in our Scouting Report, Stevenson has broke through from the academy this season, and scored a rocket (sorry!) against Oxford last month, his first senior goal.

Match Facts & Stats

Coventry have won one of their last five away league games, and drawn two

Bolton have won three of their last five home league games, and three on the bounce

We’ve only played Coventry once at the Reebok, and they beat us 5-1 in the 1997-98 season. This is our first meeting since then.

Match Prediction:

2-0 to Bolton. Hopefully a comfortable win similar to Saturday, but we don’t do thrashings.

Next Fixtures:

Away to Northampton on Saturday, then at home to Sheffield United the weekend after in the FA Cup
