Emile Heskey, at times, has formed part of a pairing with Eidur Gudjohnsen that must make them the oldest forward line in the country? You wouldn’t have thought that too many clubs would have a pairing that has a combined age of 70-plus….

His initial contract was extended until the end of the season but this isn’t when the former England international wants his time with Bolton to end.

With him still feeling that he’s got something to offer the game, and offer us, has told the BBC that he hopes to get a deal for next season with it his aim to keep playing all the while he’s getting the enjoyment from the game, as he has done this season.

‘I’d love to stay for another year, definitely.

‘I’ve enjoyed it. The lads have taken to me really well, I feel at home and I’ve got a great feeling for the club and the legs feel good.

‘I’ve played for so long it’s about the enjoyment and putting on that shirt and every week I enjoy that.’

A career in coaching is something that he plans to look into, and will do his coaching badges next year, but a continued career is his first aim and Even at 37 Heskey probably does have another year, at least, in him but will this year be with us?

Players that Neil Lennon definitely wants to keep are Adam Bogdan, Matt Mills and Darren Pratley as the will be free agent have been offered new contract with Neil Lennon saying that the ball is ‘in their court’ with ‘good offers’ made to them.

One that could be with us next season is Luke Woodland but he’ll definitely spend the remainder of this season with Oldham as his loan has been extended until the end of the current campaign.
