Former Bolton manager Colin Todd and his latest charges at Darlington have parted company after the North-East side took just two points from their first nine games of the season.

Todd was appointed in May and had to rebuild his squad from scratch after the club went into liquidation and lost most of their players. In an odd move, he agreed to resign if the Quakers failed to win Saturday`s game at Grimsby.

Bolton were relegated twice from the Premier League under Todd, but the former England international is best remembered for the season in between, when the Whites stormed back into the top flight, scoring a hundred goals in the process.
