Toothless Bolton Get Pasted At Derby

|

Bolton recorded their almost traditional act of getting pasted by Derby at Pride Park yesterday.

After losing 4-1, 4-1, and 3-0 on the last three visits, we went one better yesterday and recorded a 4-0 defeat, with Chelsea loanee Mason Mount taking home the match ball after scoring a hat-trick.

Bolton tried to be defensively solid and it sort of worked for about half an hour, but we were toothless going forward ourselves, Clayton Donaldson had a header on target but it was tamely into the hands of Kelle Roos. That was about it, and when Craig Bryson managed to fire home after a Derby player went down in the box, any of the travelling 300 or so Wanderers fans could be forgiven for leaving at that moment,

Mount would score his first goal before the break, either he or us making it look so easy, and the same could have been said about his second and their third goal, then he got his hat-trick, taking him up to ten goals for the season.

We would have one shot late in the game, but it couldn’t beat Roos, and that was it. Relegation will probably happen on Friday should we, nay, when we lose to Aston Villa. Even a win may not be enough should Wigan get something against Norwich in a few hours.

I’ve just noticed this article doesn’t refer to any off-field problems. So there’s a token mention.
