UniBol Fans Decision Expected On Thursday

|

We could soon know, if some of us could be in the UniBol for the Port Vale match a week on Saturday.

Under the government’s latest attempt to try and have some sort of plan to deal with the pandemic, spectators will be allowed in stadia in Level One or Two areas once the current ‘lockdown’ ends after next Tuesday. If Bolton is put into Level 2, because being realistic, I can’t see it being Level 1, then 2,000 fans could attend each home fixture, starting with the Vale match on December 5. Thursday seems to be the day that we’ll know what level Bolton, and every other area in England, is placed in.

If Bolton is back in Level Three, as it was, then no fans will be allowed in. Level One areas will be allowed 4,000 fans, or 50% of capacity, whichever number is lower.

This leaves another dilemma for the club – one advantage of having a massive stadium for League Two standards was the prospect of being able to safely accommodate every season ticket holder regardless, but under these plans not everyone will be able to attend every game.

It’s good to know we might be back in sooner than we thought even a few days ago, as someone who has been a lot more cautious about this wbole thing than most, there’s a worry that maybe it’s all a bit too soon, but I’ve no doubt the club will have thought the whole hygiene thing through quite well, and we all miss going to the match. Even if we have been terrible in recent years…
