Vote for Your September Player of the Month

|

September wasn’t a great month for us, it rarely has been in recent years.

We’ve picked four players I’ve thought have done better than most and left Ben Alnwick out (although he has made some good saves, I’ll give you that). You’ll all be gutted to know Jonathan Grounds hasn’t made the cut.

The nominees are as follows and the poll is below (via Twitter). Happy voting!

Josh Magennis – Not quite the heights of August for Northern Ireland’s premier Ronaldo-lookalike, but he scored a consolation against QPR and has continued to be Phil Parkinson’s man up top.

Pawel Olkowski – Olkowski’s continuing strong start to the season, and a bit of help with Lukasz Piszczek retiring from international football, has proved enough for him to be recalled into the Poland squad for the upcoming Nations League games against Italy and Portugal.

David Wheater – Some strong performances from Wheater, particularly impressed with how he came on at Ipswich fairly early in the game and helped us keep a clean sheet despite playing with ten men. We’ve conceded some really sloppy goals of late but the blame should lie with others. Hi Jonathan.

Joe Williams – The loan signing improved as the month got on – he can seemingly do a bit of everything, and was excellent against Derby.
