Will Bolton Slip Up Against Winless Mansfield?

|

Bolton take on a team that’s struggling tomorrow night.

Surely we’ll win? Going of recent lessons, it shouldn’t surprise us if we got beat.

But the truth is Wanderers really need three points at home to Mansfield, and need to improve on the woeful performance at Leyton Orient.

Team news

Nathan Delfouneso may or not be involved after having to come off early at the weekend. Lloyd Isgrove and Shaun Miller are once again available but will probably be on the bench if anything. Gethin Jones is at least a week away from resuming training.

Previously

This is our first home game against Mansfield since the closing months of the 1992-93 Division 2 campaign – we won 2-1 at Burnden Park.

The opposition

If you thought our season was bad, Mansfield have yet to win a game, drawing six of their ten so far. It was enough to see them make a recent managerial change, with Graham Coughlan sacked, and Richard Cooper placed in temporary charge. There’s a couple of ex-Bolton players in their ranks, Joe Riley is there these days, as is Harry Charsley, who played one game on loan from Everton for us in 2018, starting away at Brentford, getting subbed off, and never appearing again.

Prediction

A draw, because beating a team that hasn’t won yet just seems too good to be true. 1-1.
