Another Knockaert?

Dougie is apparently on the hunt for a young winger from Luxembourg

I don’t mind admitting, since our drop to the Championship, I’ve been a little envious of the Leicester City squad.

After the gung-ho transfer tactics of Sven, Nigel and his crew have done a grand job, identifying and trimming the fat; assembling an exciting and eclectic bunch of footballers.

There is one player on the Foxes roster I’m especially green-eyed about, that’s the young winger, Anthony Knockaert.

I’ve seen the lad play up-close twice and on the flat-screen on another 4 occasions, and he’s impressed me every time. Even after his play-off faux pas, I’m staggered no Premiership outfit has come a knocking for Knockaert.

Diverting attention to today’s transfer speculations, my heart began to flutter when I read Douglas was in negotiations with a 20-year-old winger named, Yannick Bastos.

I know nothing about this guy, I’m not pretending I do, but the picture of the Luxembourg international reminded me of young Knockaert- that increased after I watched him terrorise, assist and score against FC Utrecht on Youtube in the Europa League.

Assuming our scouts have thoroughly done their homework on Yannick- certainly no given after some of the latest recruitments- Bastos would be more than welcome to join, for me.

What do you reckon? Is a young winger what we need? If he does possess the tools to succeed, does it matter where he plays on the pitch? Is the addition of an exciting young player ever a bad move?

Let me know…
