Jinx Or Coincidental?

I’ve previously expressed my thoughts that it’s always difficult for me to have too much of an opinion on Bolton matters, but I’ll try and offer an educated one if I can!

Based on what I have previously read, and heard, it would appear that opinion is divided on Zat Knight?

The Bolton club captain isn’t exactly someone that appears to be massively favoured by the fans, with the former England international maybe failing to live up to expectations or a reputation that went before him.

He came back into the starting XI for the midweek meeting with Huddersfield, this coincided with a 1-0 defeat.

Was this merely coincidental or is he a jinx?

Since his last start for Bolton, when Leeds were the opposition at the Reebok on September 14th, 11 games had been played with only two defeats suffered in the championship but of course its now one for one after his return….

Knight admitted that he wasn’t happy being on the sidelines but he’s not “a selfish player” and has continued to offer encouragement to those that have kept him out and “holds his hands up” that younger players keeping him out do so on merit.

I would say that Knight offers experience that others can learn from, but from what I have seen of him in recent times I think that he is past his best, but perhaps it would be unfair to say that he was a jinx and the Huddersfield defeat was merely coincidental….

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.
