It was never the most successful of acquisitions. After playing for Watford and Fulham, Heidar Helguson signed for Bolton in 2007 for a fee which could have risen as high as £2.2 million. There was never any chance of that, as he spent most of the time on the treatment table and cost a fortune in surgical fees and medical supplies. The best thing about him was his wife.

Now he`s back, at least according to BWFC`s official site. This will be a surprise to Queens Park Rangers who signed him last season, and Watford, who are under the impression that they`ve taken him back on loan.

Helguson will now battle with Sam Ricketts for the number 18 shirt. Given the Icelander`s fragility, you`d have to fancy Ricketts by technical knock out in the early rounds.

  • Ok I’m confused…….is Helguson your player or QPR’s? as your saying that he’s your player and I thought that he signed for QPR in Jan? (though on their official site he isn’t even in their team profiles??) ………….confused Watford fan!!

  • According to Bolton’s site he’s on loan to Watford. According to Watford’s sight he’s on loan from Bolton. QPR were supposed to have signed him, but he’s not on their site at all. Maybe no one wants the poor bugger.

  • Hold on, QPR are contribuating to his wages whilst at watford, i understood that he was signed by them from you lot in Jan and not as a loanee. The world is going mad!

  • Just checked the watford official website and it states he is on loan from QPR, but what the hell, he was never premiership class and not so sure with hum coming back to us, will wait and see.

  • Just to clarify he’s nothing to do with Bolton anymore, just a wonderful glitch on the BWFC website that brightened our lives for a brief moment 😀
